How long have you been making jewellery and how did you get into jewellery making?
As a teenager I was very interested in all types of craft making, so when I got an opportunity to
start a jewellery apprenticeship though a family friend, I jumped at the chance. From day one I was hooked. That was 30 years ago and I have never looked back. What is your most unusual jewellery request? As a young jeweller back in the 80's, when Haley's Comet was passing the earth, I was commissioned to make a replica piece using different coloured gold, gemstones and diamonds.
Do you have favourite gemstones? Opal - Australia's national stone and Diamond. Why Diamond? A
well cut diamond is just stunning, set properly it just sparkles like no other gem.
What in creating jewellery, gives you the most satisfaction?
My most satisfying moments come at the end of the process, when I have had the customers’
input from start to finish and they see the jewellery completed for the first time. Tell us something about your life outside Wild Trout...
I'm married and have two beautiful daughters who all share our part-time hobby of breeding
French Bulldogs. I currently have 5 dogs and in the past year have become a certified Breeder in N.S.W. To date, I have had great success with our puppies being sold around the world.
